Flowers, Flowers, Everywhere

If you want to know “what’s hot” in interior design, ask Lamar Lisman.  As CEO of Lisman Studio Interior Designs, he’s had over twenty years of experience creating beautiful, daring, and fabulous designs for top-notch clients around the country. With such an impressive resume, we’re pleased that he’ll be joining us again at Uppercase Living’s 2009 Convention, both as a Keynote Speaker and Breakout Session presenter. Here’s a preview of Lamar’s recommendations on color, design, and trends as posted recently on UL’s Demonstrator blog:

Hello all!  You might not know me…yet, but I’m one of Uppercase Living’s biggest fans! I was invited to join the annual Convention last year in Minneapolis to help introduce your 2008 color palette and immediately became hooked on the level of enthusiasm surrounding Uppercase Living products! It became obvious to me that Uppercase Living is the clear LEADER in the industry, not only zeroing in on the hot new looks, but making them available to you quickly to increase sales.

Speaking of hot—I hope you’re cashing in on THE big trend for spring: BIG BOLD FLOWERS!!! Picture sock-it-to-me flowers that bring a big smile every time you see them. I’ve included some trend shots of flowers I’m seeing in the marketplace (See below.)

But, don’t just think of these for the junior and children’s market—these blooms are meant to be enjoyed EVERYWHERE! I’m seeing pop flowers on everything from dishes to bedding. Even lampshades and chairs are taking a whole new twist on the trend. They blend perfectly with a contemporary or traditional look. In the right colors they even have a wonderful “zen garden” feel to them.

To help your customers create their own “flower power” motifs, consider suggesting Chrysanthemum (Item #15336). Don’t be afraid of color, as this look is all about whimsy and fun! Of course Mod Poppy 1 (#15344) and Mod Poppy 2 (#15345) complete the look and are perfect for that drab little corner lacking life and energy. What a fresh look for spring – it could be just the “bailout” we have all been looking for!
